Fermanagh moved another step closer to back-to-back promotions under Peter Canavan yesterday with a comfortable victory over Sligo.
The aid of a very strong breeze in Brewster Park enabled Fermanagh to outscore their opponents 10 points to three in the second-half.
Not for the first time in this campaign, Sligo were poor and totally reliant on Adrian Marren for scores who provided 0-7 of their total, and was unerringly accurate from frees. Fermanagh thoroughly deserved their victory. They had plenty of ideas and always had support runners.
Ryan McCluskey was chief organiser at the back and wing-back Declan McCusker raided forward with three points from play.Tomás Corrigan landed two crucial scores against the wind and three second-half frees. And after having difficulty kicking against the breeze, Paul Ward turned around and scored 0-3 from play after the break as Fermanagh won pulling up.
