The recent golden age looks to have passed. Last season’s championship was ended by a trimming from Kerry but they gave a great account of themselves in Galway, nearly springing the surprise of the summer. The league campaign was notable for unexpectedly skewering Leitrim’s promotion hopes and Liam Ó Lionáin continues to fight the good fight up front with Shane Aherne. Hard to see a way past Clare in Ennis, though.

Last good day: Defeated London in 2011 for a first win in qualifiers, against a side that had already created a stir by beating Fermanagh.
