Four GAA league matches postponed due to weather

The GAA has confirmed that four of Sunday’s football league fixtures have been postponed due to the weather.

Met Éireann has issued a new weather warning for “severe and damaging gusts” due to Storm Franklin this weekend. A status yellow wind warning is in place for all of Ireland until 9am on Monday, and a status yellow gale warning continues to operate for all Irish coastal waters and the Irish sea until midnight on Sunday.

The Division Two clash between unbeaten Galway and winless Offaly has been postponed, along with the midlands derby in Division Three between Westmeath and Longford. Sligo and Cavan’s Division Four clash has also been postponed, as has Wexford's meeting with Tipperary. The pitch at Wexford Park had passed an earlier inspection, but the conditions deteriorated further. The CCCC will confirm all refixture details next week.

The time and venue for Sunday’s Division Four game, Leitrim v London, has also been changed. That’s now throwing in at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, 3G outdoor all weather pitch at 1pm.

Limerick and Louth’s Division Three match has been switched to the University of Limerick’s 3G pitch with a 2.15pm throw-in time, as the Gaelic Grounds is unplayable

The LGFA has also confirmed the NFL Division 1A fixture between Galway and Mayo has been postponed, and refixed for next Sunday at 2pm (further details to be confirmed).
