Sigerson Cup final: DCU DE v UCD, Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Wednesday, 7.30pm – Live on TG4
The 2025 Sigerson Cup final will take place at the Connacht Centre of Excellence in Bekan on Wednesday – with provincial council officials revealing plans are already afoot to rebuild the facility’s destroyed Air Dome.
The Dome was ripped apart during Storm Éowyn late last month but Connacht GAA insist it will be reconstructed.
The Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup final between UCD and DCU will take place at the venue on Wednesday evening, but on Pitch Two – which is adjacent to the Dome pitch.
But the site has been cleaned of debris and repairs to the Dome’s artificial pitch allowed camogie’s Ashbourne Cup decider to be played on it last weekend.

“We were probably lucky in terms of the trajectory of the wind, it didn’t affect the (main) building or the grass pitches,” says Connacht’s Coaching and Games manager Cathal Cregg.
“It’s fully insured, we got through the Ashbourne Cup and it’s Fitzgibbon and Sigerson now. The rebuild will start then more or less straight away.
“I can’t give you an exact time frame but it will be up as soon as we can. The plan has started in terms of the engineers and all that type of stuff. We’ve had meetings with them over the last week, so it’s definitely going to be rebuilt and it will be as soon as possible.”
There could be some adaptations to the design, including the possibility of changes that would allow the Dome to be taken down should such ferocious storms be forecast again in the future.
Meanwhile, UCD are aiming to win the Sigerson Cup for the first time since 2018. The Belfield side lost last year’s decider to Ulster University, while DCU’s last Sigerson triumph was in 2020.
The sides met in round two of this year’s competition, with UCD edging that contest by just a single point.
UCD boast an array of county talent – including Roscommon pair Daire Cregg and Ben O’Carroll, Mayo’s Sam Callinan, Offaly’s Cormac Egan and Laois goalkeeper Killian Roche.
DCU will be looking to the likes of Dublin’s Lorcan O’Dell and Greg McEneaney, Sligo’s Luke Marren and Leitrim’s Tom Prior for leadership in the decider.
