Willie Leggett, the former senior cup player for The Island, is making a habit of winning on the Algarve. Leggett won the gross prize for the third time in four years at the recent international week, scoring 146 for the four rounds.

Six Irish players qualified for the Estoril golf play-off with Tony Hartin leading the way with 110 points from Martin Collins (109), Gerry O'Connor (108), Terry Lynch (104), David Evans (102) and Marie Courtney (84).

Hartin went on to win class two with 147 points while Courtney took class two in the women's section with 110 points.
