The Ireland rugby league team attracted over 3,000 souls to the final pool match against the New Zealand Maoris at the weekend, nearly doubling the attendance of those who had watched the victory over Scotland. The rugby league organisers made clever use of Friday night's Guinness interprovincial between Leinster and Munster at Donnybrook, giving out free tickets to the league game outside the ground. The rugby league team now enjoy a tantalising clash with England at Headingly for a place in the World Cup semi-final.
