There are literally tens of thousands of golf-related sites on the internet, and a significant percentage are, frankly, rubbish. Sad personal sites set up by fanatics with themes like "Fred Funk, Sex God".
But floating about there in the hyperworld is also a galaxy of useful information, and several sites merit inclusion in any "favourites" list.
Chief among them are the main professional tour sites, pgatour.com (including the US Seniors and satellite tours) and europeantour.com. Both are full of news and related links. One facility they offer which is particularly useful for journalists with a tight deadline or for our more anxious Golf Masters managers is live scoring: you'll know within minutes whether Rocco made the cut.
Other "super sites" include golfonline.com, which has recently merged with igolf.com. The site is run by Golf magazine, and thus has extensive coverage of the game in all of its many facets.
