Mattie Forde booted Kilanerin to a sixth county title with a great display, finishing with a tally of 0-13, as they destroyed Horeswood in the Wexford senior football final at Wexford Park yesterday.
The game was over as a contest by the interval as Kilanerin led by 1-15 to 0-0, with Forde landing nine points, while his inter-county colleague John Hegarty scored a 27th-minute goal.
The fact Horeswood failed to register a score during the opening 30 minutes speaks for itself. They had to wait until the fifth minute of the second half for their opening score, a Leigh O'Brien pointed free.
Kilanerin remained in total control and added a further eight points in the second half.
