Nicholas Flood is back in Ireland celebrating his gold medal in the IV World Silhouette Shooting Championships in Brisbane, Australia. The competition, which took place prior to the Sydney Olympics, involved 55 competitors from 16 countries.

Silhouette shooting, in which steel silhouettes shaped like game animals and birds are used as targets, was introduced to Ireland in 1975 and now involves seven clubs throughout the country.
