Shelbourne head for Flancare Park this evening looking to complete a swift double over cup winners Longford Town but both sides will be forced to make changes from the sides that started on Monday night when the Dubliners came out on top by three goals to one.

Pat Fenlon, who has reportedly completed the re-signing of Richie Baker from the New England Revolution for next season, is without two of his regular back four with both skipper Owen Heary and centre half Jamie Harris suspended.

Everyone else, though, is fit which means a return to the starting 11 for Kevin Doherty alongside Dave Rogers in the centre of midfield and a possible opening for Alan McDermott at right back.

"We were probably a bit nervy the other night," said Fenlon yesterday, "but the idea this time will be just to go up there and do our own thing.

"The lads know that they have their destiny in their on hands and it won't concern anyone too much when we wrap the title up as long as we do win it in the end."

Longford also have two players out due to suspension and Alan Mathews is likely to bring in Graham Gartland and Eric Lavine for Alan Murphy and Paul Keegan.

The home side's manager believes his side was good enough to take something from the first meeting between the sides earlier in the week and is determined that they do themselves justice in front of their own home crowd this evening.

"I know everybody says it in these sort of circumstances but I really do want us to win the remaining games, particularly at home.

" I don't just want the season to fizzle out because we've already qualified for Europe," said Mathews.

"To be honest I thought we should have had something from the away game," he continued. "It was very even and both sides only had around four real chances.

"The difference was that they took three of their four while we only took one. That's why they're probably going to end up as champions again regardless of what happens in this game."
