Damien Faulkner is poised to become the first Irishman to win a European motor-racing championship, and the Co Donegal driver can do it in the two penultimate rounds at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Faulkner increased his lead in the European Formula Audi Championship over Britain's Justin Keen to 25 points with two double wins two weeks ago at Oulton Park. Third-placed Robbie Kerr trails Faulkner by 62 points and although he has a mathematical chance of taking the championship, he is effectively out contention.
