The Fairyhouse authorities rate their chances of racing tomorrow at only "50-50" and an inspection of the track will take place this afternoon at 3pm.

A Turf Club inspection yesterday found the inside course to be unraceable but if the Ratoath course escapes the rain forecast for today the chances of getting the green light will increase.

"About 6mms of rain is forecast to be floating about and that could put us in trouble. But if we don't get it, we should be grand. The problem is the ground in the finishing straight which was a bit too heavy today," said the Fairyhouse manager, Niall Mackey, yesterday.

A switch to the main track, if the inside course fails to be passed, has already been ruled out.

"It's too close to the Easter festival and we already have the Bobbyjo Chase day later this month for the main track. It has to be the inside course on Wednesday," Mackey added.
