Carlow had shaded the first half, with full forward Karl English scoring 1-3 to leave the visitors a goal ahead at the break.

Dublin began the second half well and were back on level terms when Graham Morris found the back of the net midway through the period.

And despite successive points from Dublin corner forward Michael Griffin, Carlow levelled in the closing stages when English sent over a free from the right.
