Who could it be providing the information (a) principle Eircom Park supporter and FAI chief executive Bernard O'Byrne or (b) principle Eircom Park antagonist and FAI Treasurer Brendan Menton or ?

According to an article in the international football magazine Prestige, which is a jarring mix of male fashion, big fat cars and international soccer, the Eircom Park project is now crystal clear.

"The final obstacle to the development of the FAI's own stadium has finally been removed," it states. "Objections to the development's planning permission were dismissed. The way has now been cleared for the building work to finally begin. The 45,000 all-seater stadium is expected to be finished by 2003."

The Football Association has spent £3 million on 350 acres of farm land where it plans to build an England training centre. What's the bet it will be built before Eircom Park.
