Dublin appeal against under-21 hurling final result

The Dublin County Board have appealed the result of last Thursday's Leinster under-21 hurling final defeat to Kilkenny.

Dublin contest that midfielder Willie Lowry was sent off in the wrong having been mistaken for another player previously yellow-carded.

The appeal will be heard by the Leinster Council in Portlaoise tonight, and with an overturning of the result or the offer of a replay unlikely, Dublin are set to next bring the matter to the Disputes Resolution Authority.

Elsewhere, the GAA has announced that tickets for all of this weekend's games in Croke Park are currently available from county board sources, the GAA website - www.gaa.ie, Ticketmaster outlets and in the Croke Park area from McCaughey's Shop on Clonliffe Road and Benny's Shop on Emmet Street.

General tickets for the game between Dublin and Westmeath on Saturday, August 12th, were sold out within a matter of hours yesterday morning through Ticketmaster outlets and www.gaa.ie. Tickets for the game were limited to six per person and one order per person only but that did little to stem the demand.

No tickets for the Dublin-Westmeath match are going on sale from the Dublin County Board offices. Dublin's allocation is expected to be totally taken up by clubs and Parnell Park ticket holders, with Parnell Park holders being advised to claim their tickets next Tuesday from offices in Parnell Park - one ticket per holder.
