Donegal full back Paddy Campbell will miss Sunday's fourth-round football qualifier against Fermanagh in Enniskillen after the central appeals committee upheld his four-week suspension on Wednesday night.

A meeting of the Donegal County Board next Monday may see the appeal process move to the disputes resolution authority.

As a result, Brian McIver looks set to rejig both defensive lines, but he is keeping that information to himself for now.

The Donegal team released last night carried two An Others, at full back and left corner forward. Eamon Magee is expected to fill the Campbell void with Tommy Donohue coming into the side at half back.

This would be a snub for the former Donegal full back Raymond Sweeney, who is also a panel member.

The other gap in selection is to allow Michael Doherty time to recover from knee-ligament damage sustained in the Ulster semi-final victory over Derry on June 18th.

The team's free-taker has struggled in training this week so veteran forward Adrian Sweeney may yet hold down the role.

There are others in the queue, however, like Conall Dunne, who lost the full-forward slot in favour of Ciarán Bonner, with Colin Kelly coming in for only his second championship start.

The change to the full-forward line can be attributed to a textbook defensive display by Armagh's Francie Bellew in the Ulster final.

The other positional switch sees the in-form Rory Kavanagh move out to left half forward.

Fermanagh defender Peter Sherry is ruled out with influenza, but Shane McDermott comes back into the team at right half back. Other significant switches see Tom Brewster and Mark Little move into the full-forward line to put pressure on the new Donegal combination.

Mick O'Dwyer has dropped Laois captain Gary Kavanagh for Ian Fitzpatrick ahead of Sunday's visit by Offaly to Portlaoise.

Fitzpatrick made a significant impact when introduced for the Stradbally forward in the third-round victory over Meath, even supplying the crucial pass for Ross Munnelly's second goal.

Brian McDonald moves to Kavanagh's corner position, with Fitzpatrick named at full forward.

Goalkeeper Fergal Byron will take over the leadership duties in the absence of a county champions representative.

Westmeath have made one change from the third-round victory over Sligo, with 17-year-old James Durkan replacing the injured John Connellan.

Midfielder David O'Shaughnessy has failed to recover from an Achilles tendon injury but is named on the bench.

Meanwhile, the central disciplinary committee announced several suspensions yesterday, but Sligo pair Pádraig Doohan and Eamon O'Hara saw mandatory four-week bans for red cards rescinded after "a review based on video evidence supplied".

However, Brendan Egan's four-week suspension arising from the Westmeath game on July 15th was upheld.

It matters little, as Sligo lost the match by a single point after extra time.
