"I know this is probably fairly predictable, but I can't look beyond Steve Redgrave's win in Sydney. When I was playing with London Irish, he actually came and gave us a talk one day, not long after he had taken his fourth gold medal in Atlanta, and he gave us an insight into the commitment and focus involved. He was just a very impressive and inspiring individual and I suppose I've retained a particular interest in him since. I just watched the Sydney race on television at home. It wasn't even the event itself, although it was an exciting race in its own right, so much as the magnitude of what he was about to achieve. From a personal perspective, it's hard to look beyond Paris. It was just such an immense occasion and the manner in which we won made it very, very special."
