IRISH boys' champion Lee Dalton maintained his impressive form to reach the third round of the British Open Boys' championship at Littlestone yesterday.

The Waterford teenager accounted for Welsh youngster Richard Jones by six and five, and has not been taken beyond the 13th in the tournament so far. But Dalton is likely to face a sterner challenge this morning when he meets last year's Welsh champion, Morgan Palmer, for a place in the last 32.

Also in impressive form was Derry's David Jones, who saw off the challenge of Germany's Carl Birch six and five to book his third round spot.
