After four successful years in the Algarve, next year's Musgrave Crumlin Children's Hospital club challenge - which is supported by The Irish Times - is spreading its wings.

The 2002 national final, open to all clubs affiliated to the GUI and ILGU, will take place at the world-renowned Erinvale Golf Resort in Cape Town, South Africa. Erinvale was the host venue for the 1996 World Cup of Golf. The competition has been approved by the Royal and Ancient (rule 4-2g) for the payment of expenses. The finals will be on November 10th-17th, 2002.

The event is a three-person team competition and qualifying and provincial final stages are run under a rumble format. A fee of £60 per team is requested, with all money raised going to Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, as Musgrave underwrite all expenses involved.

Next year's provincial finals will be played at Nenagh (Munster final, September 2nd), Mullingar (Leinster final, September 5th), Westport (Connacht final, September 9th) and Castle Hume (Ulster final, September 12th).
