The 70,000 Derrinstown Stud Birdcatcher Nursery is typically competitive, but a big plus for punters at Naas tomorrow is that Michael Kinane's mount Cairlinn is definitely the horse in form.

It's only three days since the Namid colt broke his maiden at Navan over five furlongs and, now that the ground is softer, he looks one to follow again.

Cairlinn ran over today's trip of six furlongs on his debut, and after that was ridden by Kinane on fast ground at Tipperary. He didn't cut much ice either time, but now that conditions appear to suit him Cairlinn looks a different proposition.

A 5lb penalty for that two-and-a-half length defeat of Fontanally Springs still leaves Cairlinn on only 8.6, with Aidan O'Brien's Dark Cheetah topping the weights despite not having run since Royal Ascot.

The most valuable race of the day is the Listed Garnet Stakes, which must have seemed an unlikely engagement for Miss Mambo after she was placed in May's French 1,000 Guineas at Longchamp behind Torrestrella.

Transferred to Dermot Weld, she ran a nice race behind Troubador at the Curragh and, not surprisingly, didn't threaten when last behind Attraction in the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

This looks a much more suitable task, despite a trio of fillies from the John Oxx yard and two from Ballydoyle.

Aidan O'Brien and Jamie Spencer should still have a good day, however, with the Danzig newcomer Olympic in the first, the Danehill filly Reggae in the first part of the maiden and even Full Moon Tonight, who is bred better than her debut showed.

Belle Artiste's form includes running the Middle Park winner Ad Valorem to six lengths at the Curragh, and there is also a fifth in the Moyglare to boast of. The winning pay-off looks likely in the Autumn Bonus Race.
