The BBC, who covered the Paralympic Games better than anyone, should take some flak for their disgraceful presentation of the Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

Tanni Grey-Thompson, their multi-medalled disabled athlete, won the award for triumph in the face of adversity or some other pigeonholing prize. Pity then that the set designers could not arrange for a wheelchair ramp to be built up to the interview area.

Improbable as it seems, Tanni was placed below the rest of the panel looking up like a school kid who had just been sent to the headmaster's office. Perhaps that's why the corporation received over 160 complaints after the show.
