HOLDERS Coill Dubh retained their Kildare senior hurling title by beating Naas at Newbridge yesterday. This was Coill Dubh's fifth title success and was a repeat of last year's win after a replay against the same opposition.
The sides were level four times during a closely contested opening half which ended with the sides tied at 1-5 each. Coill Dubh pulled clear with three unanswered points early in the second half. A subsequent goal by Tom Carew put the game well beyond the reach of Naas, the 1994 champions.
