Cricket Ireland has confirmed that the two games in the RSA Insurance ODI Series against Pakistan in May will take place at Castle Avenue in Clontarf.

Pakistan will spend a week in Ireland in preparation for the Champions Trophy in England and take on Ireland in games on Thursday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 26th. Both games will have a 10.45am start.

Ireland coach Phil Simmons is relishing the opportunity to take on Pakistan again, having lost both ODIs against them at Stormont in Belfast back in 2011.

“These are the sort of games that both the players and the fans really look forward to. I think we owe the Dublin supporters a big win,” said Simmons.

“We’ve beaten West Indies and Zimbabwe in Belfast, as well as those famous World Cup wins against England and Pakistan abroad. We should have beaten Australia here in 2010, but threw away a great chance.

“It would be fantastic if we could win at least one of the two games. This squad has certainly got the ability to do that.”
