The Dunmore East-Waterford Crystal Golf Classic will be a classic with a difference for Margaret Curran and Adrian Williams this year. A chance meeting at the 1997 event, when Curran filled in for a missing member of one of the teams, turned to romance and the pair will marry in St Patrick's Church, Wicklow on April 24th. Their honeymoon will be spent, where else, but at the Dunmore East Classic along with more than 20 of the wedding guests.
The charming Waterford fishing village will again look after the needs of over 500 visitors for this year's event which takes place from April 26th to 30th.
The four-person team event will be run over four courses - Waterford, Tramore, Waterford Castle and Faithlegg - with prizes for the first three each day. The team event will be run on the stableford system, with the best three cards per team to carry forward each day. Prizes will be awarded to the best overseas, Irish, mixed and ladies teams.
