Castlecomer CS 1-13 St Peter's 0-13:A stunning third quarter that saw them turn a two-point interval deficit into a five-point gain proved decisive as Castlecomer CS eventually held out for a three-point victory over a battling St Peter's College at Bellefield on Saturday afternoon.

The Kilkenny side won because they managed to get the only goal of the game which arrived just two minutes into the second half when Ollie Feeney forced the ball over the line from a goalmouth scramble.

St Peter’s led by 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time but Castlecomer surged into the second half.

The Wexford college were two points behind, 1-12 to 0-13, as the game moved into additional time, but it was a Shane Kinsella pointed free that ensured victory for Castlecomer.
