Carrickmore double up

GOALS by Damian Loughran and Brian Gormley helped Carrickmore to a second successive Tyrone title at Omagh

GOALS by Damian Loughran and Brian Gormley helped Carrickmore to a second successive Tyrone title at Omagh. They defeated Errigal Ciaran 2-8 to 1-9.

Loughran hit a brilliant effort midway through the first half. When Gormley added a second soon after the re start, Carrickmore opened up an eight points gap. However, Errigal fought back and narrowed the gap to two points when Paschal Canavan fisted a goal, but even the introduction of substitute Peter Canavan was not enough to rescue them from defeat.

On Saturday, meanwhile, Killybegs retained their Donegal title when they defeated Naomh Columba by 1-8 to 1-7.
