Joan Byrne had a double reason for celebration at Sheila O'Donoghue's, Lady Captain's prize at Castelwarden last week. Joan was the worthy winner in this Millennium event which is also the 10th anniversary of the founding of the club. Joan, a 25 handicapper, had rounds of 73 and 69 to win by two shots from Gilly Hughes (19) on 144 and Vivian Coleman (23) on 146. Chris Kenny, a 12 handicapper, led after the first round with a nett 68 and had to settle for the gross prize with 173.
