TOMAS BROLIN has threatened to retire from football if Leeds refuse to bow to his demands. The 26 year old Swedish international dropped the bombshell before storming out of a clear the air meeting at Elland Road yesterday.
But club solicitor Peter McCormack accused Brolin of being "silly" and warned that Leeds would consider suing him if he carried out his threat.
Brolin, signed by former Leeds boss Howard Wilkinson from Parma in a £4.5 million deal nearly a year ago, had reluctantly returned to Leeds for the meeting from Switzerland where his loan spell with FC Zurich had expired.
He wanted to stay with Zurich until the club's Christmas break in December.
