Trevor Brennan was detained overnight in hospital after being stretchered off following a heavy collision while playing for Toulouse against Castres in the French Championship last night but initial reports indicate this was a precautionary measure, and that at worst the former Leinster and Irish flanker was suffering from concussion.

Brennan had attempted to make a trademark big hit on Jacques Deen, but caught the Castres flanker's shoulder with his head. Amid much concern from team-mates and opponents, a lengthy delay ensued before Brennan was carried off.
