Newly promoted Bray Wanderers went top of the Premier Division with a first-ever League victory over Derry City

Newly promoted Bray Wanderers went top of the Premier Division with a first-ever League victory over Derry City. Central defender Colm Tresson's 78th minute goal was enough to make it two wins in a row for Pat Devlin's side.

Jason Byrne went close to scoring on 49 minutes, when hitting a shot on the turn against the woodwork after a magnificent cross from skipper Eddie Gormley on the left.

Liam Coyle and Paul Hegarty wasted late chances for Derry before Tresson grabbed that deserved winner for the home side. He was up to join his attack and headed home another Gormley corner on the right.
