RUGBY: Connacht have signed the promising 22-year-old South Africa prop Brett Wilkinson as head coach Michael Bradley beefs up his side for the start of the new season.

Wilkinson joins from the University of Cape Town, where he was coached by the former Ulster boss Alan Solomons and player Robbie Kempson.

Meanwhile, Jonah Lomu makes his latest comeback today in North Harbour's club competition. The former New Zealand winger broke an ankle playing for Cardiff this year.

Lomu (31), who underwent a kidney transplant two years ago, is still hoping for an All Blacks recall and takes his first steps toward that goal by lining out for Massey against Marist North Harbour.
