WOMENS HOCKEY: Both Ballymoney and Belfast Harlequins dropped points for the first time this season on Saturday, with Harlequins falling victim to a last-minute Arlene Boyles goal that gave champions Pegasus a 2-1 win at Queen's.

Caroline Waddell had given Harlequins the lead in the 18th minute but Kirsty McCollum levelled after the break before Boyles' late winner.

Ulster League leaders Ballymoney were five minutes away from winning their sixth successive game of the season when Rachel Hamill equalised for Ards, but they remain top of the table, ahead of Pegasus who are now in second place.

The Leinster Cup game between Skerries and Genesis was postponed due to a bereavement suffered by one of the players. Three Rock and Loreto II made it in to the second round, Three Rock beating Trinity 2-1 with goals from EJ Walsh and Brigid Charmant, Loreto II overcoming Pembroke Wanderers II by the same scoreline, with Niamh Smith and Fiona Sweeney getting their scores.
