Bohemians face UEFA scrutiny

UEFA will today consider a complaint lodged by Estonian club Levadia Maardu over the handling of their Champions League qualifying game at Dalymount Park on Wednesday evening.

Relations between officials from Bohemians and those of the visiting club deteriorated badly over the course of Wednesday as the Estonians made a succession of complaints on topics including the type of goals used, the proximity of the perimeter advertising, the pitch and the lack of segregation among the crowd.

The UEFA observer at the game, however, is broadly favourable to Bohemians, describing the club as "co-operative" and the Levadia officials as "obstructive".

Meanwhile, Sligo Rovers yesterday confirmed Don O'Riordan had replaced Tommy Cassidy as manager at the Showgrounds. The former Galway United boss will be officially unveiled at a press conference this evening.
