Blank day for McCoy

RACING NEWS: Tony McCoy drew a rare blank on his trip to Newcastle yesterday

RACING NEWS: Tony McCoy drew a rare blank on his trip to Newcastle yesterday. The champion jockey, making only his second visit of the campaign to the track, was beaten on both mounts and remains 46 winners behind Sir Gordon Richards' record total of 269 in a season.

McCoy, who rode a treble from four mounts on his previous outing to Newcastle last November, took a fall on Charlie Banker in the Ramside Event Catering Handicap Chase and in the National Hunt Flat Race he could only manage second best behind comfortable winner Point.
