American Notah Begay and Briton Gary Orr have been given medical extensions for the 2008 European Tour season, the tour announced today.

Begay, a US PGA Tour winner who decided to try his luck on the European circuit last year, has a long-running sciatica problem and will be exempt for the entire season.

Orr, twice a European Tour winner in 2000, has also suffered with back problems for some time.

The Scot has nine events to make up the €35,000 he finished short at the end of this season.

However, he may still go to the European Tour qualifying school to give himself two chances of making a full card for next year.
