Frosty weather may have wiped out National Hunt racing in Britain this week - but armchair race fans can look forward to a feast of television racing today.

All four of today's turf cards in Britain - Sandown, Uttoxeter, Haydock and Musselburgh - have been called off.

But racing is expected to go ahead on the all-weather surfaces at Lingfield and at Southwell, where the Nottinghamshire course has taken over the "matinee" card scheduled for its sister track at Wolverhampton. The 10-race programme will start at 11.20 a.m.

Channel 4 has switched for the third Saturday running to Lingfield and will also cover Southwell, from where it televised a jumps meeting last Saturday. Five races will be shown from each card.

Channel 4 say they are also aiming to cover three races from Fairyhouse - the 1.30, 2.00 and 2.30 races - but whether these will be shown live or recorded will depend on whether they can be fitted into the schedule.

Stewards at Fakenham will inspect the course at 11 a.m. tomorrow to see if Monday's jumps meeting can go ahead but prospects are not good.
