Jockey Garrett Cotter was banned for 21 days, from October 2nd, after a stewards' inquiry following the first division of the T J Cross Maiden Hurdle. Cotter, the leading claiming rider last season, was banned for making "insufficient effort" after his mount, Cottage Girl, finished eighth in the race which was won by Coillte an Ceoil.

Cottage Girl's trainer, Charles Byrne, was fined £300 for using the "racecourse as a training ground". The mare was also banned from racing for 30 days.
