Kevin Flynn has accepted a one-match suspension arising from his straight red card against Wicklow, meaning the Kildare midfielder will miss Sunday’s Leinster SFC semi-final against Louth.
Flynn was sent off late in the first half of Kildare’s quarter-final win over Wicklow at O’Moore Park after catching Patrick O’Keane on the side of the face with a high tackle.
Referee Seán Lonergan brandished a red card, leaving Kildare to see out the remainder of the contest at a numerical disadvantage. However, Glenn Ryan’s men survived a dramatic finale to advance to the last four.
Kildare opted not to challenge a proposed one-match suspension issued by GAA disciplinary officials, and so the Lilywhites will be without Flynn for Sunday’s crucial Croke Park meeting with Louth.

Kildare need to beat the Wee County, and claim a place in the Leinster final, if they are to snatch a spot in the All-Ireland series. Defeat to Louth on Sunday would confirm Kildare’s place in the Tailteann Cup for the summer ahead.
