Three offers sound advice for businesses on everything from scaling to cybercrime

Business Learning centre offers unbiased, factual information and guidance in plain English

Want to learn more about how to defend your business from cyberattack? Are you interested in mobile working for your staff? Have your ever wondered what unified communications means and what it could do for your business? The answers to all of these questions and many more can be found on the Three Business Learning Centre microsite (connected.three.ie).

With dedicated areas for SMEs, enterprise scale businesses, and public sector organisations the Three Business Learning centre offers unbiased, factual information and guidance in plain English which is helpful and easy to understand.

Much of the content is created by Three in-house consultants and communications and technology experts but some of the most popular items are generated by other businesses.

For example, one of the top trending features is the Learn from Experience section of the Small-Medium business page. This features Three business customers answering a question such as “what was your best business decision in 2017 and why?” Answers range from “setting up a culture committee to enhance employee experience” to “adopting cloud technology aligned to business demand and needs”.

Another enduringly popular item is the annual Three Business Mindset survey which explores the ways Irish businesses are embracing new technologies, planning the next phase in their digital transformation and using mobile technology within their businesses.

"Businesspeople like learning from their peers", says Three business digital marketing manager Katie Kirwan.

Unsurprisingly, GDPR has also emerged as a trending topic on the site in recent months and visitors will find a very clear guide to the new regulation on the Enterprise section.

Another hot topic for the past few years has been the Internet of Things (Io) and related Machine to Machine (M2M) technology. “This is of interest to organisations of all sizes as is mobile working”, says Katie Kirwan. “The issues are basically the same, but the solutions might differ in terms of scale and complexity.”

Other topics covered by the Three Business Learning Centre include tips for making your website work harder, implementing new technology with minimal disruption to the business, big data for small business, cloud computing, SMS marketing, school payment systems, bring your own device (BYOD) policies, and much more besides.
