KaBoom! addresses the “play deficit” present in society, helping to create safe environments for children to play, and develop physical, creative and social skills. KaBoom! works with community groups to fundraise for, design and build their ideal playground, providing them with the knowledge and tools to do so. By allowing the children and families who will benefit from the playground to take ownership of its design, KaBoom! aims to create a unique sense of community around each playground . Since its foundation, KaBoom! has been involved in building 2,000 playgrounds across North America, impacting upon the lives of 5.5 million children. KaBoom!’s Irish team are working to identify a pilot site and funding partners to launch the project in Ireland.
