Sir, - I listened to Mr Dermot Ahern's great concern for the elderly when he asked the banks not to close down in rural towns. Would it not be of greater benefit to the elderly and those people living alone if Mr Ahern could convince his Government colleagues of the importance of keeping Post Offices open? Their hours are more customer-friendly than the banks' and the elderly could keep their money safely. - Yours, etc.,
M. Doyle, Lifford, Co Donegal.
