Sir, – Katherine Zappone wasn’t slow in putting herself forward for appointment as UN special envoy.
However, when invited to appear before an Oireachtas committee to explain the circumstances surrounding the proposed appointment, declines to do so.
Given the generous pension payments she receives, courtesy of Irish taxpayers, surely they deserve the courtesy of an explanation. Or was it, simply a case of self service over public service. – Yours, etc,
