Sir, – Regarding women in Irish life, we need look no further than the Catholic Church, of which I am a member, to see the appalling discrimination against women in Irish life. It perpetuates the notion that we are less important than men, less capable and less worthy of leadership positions. I have tried to point this out to church authorities. But all I got were got were dismissive responses. – Yours, etc,
