Sir, – One wonders how on earth a project such as white water rafting was proposed for George’s Dock ever even got as far as concept stage never mind proposal stage.
Typically it was the reinventing of a wheel when there was never even the justification for a wheel in the first place.
One can only further wonder why this beautiful 18th-century dock with all its historical significance, not to mention its beautiful cut-stone walls and quays and right beside its companion in age, the equally historically important Stack A warehouse and Harbour Master Building could not just be just left alone in all its historical charm and simplicity, cleaned up and put back the way it was for all to enjoy. – Yours, etc,
