Voicing concerns does not mean ‘anti-vax’

Sir, – The slur term "anti-vax" is used to describe those with legitimate concerns at the prospect of digital health certification for travel within the EU, as expressed to their MEPs ("Anti-vax email 'deluge' hits European Parliament", World, March 25th).

Human rights bodies the Council of Europe and the Irish Council for Civil Liberties have both outlined the human rights issues posed by new health surveillance technologies and have advised against their implementation.

Are they, too, to be branded anti-vax?

There is a mature conversation to be had, but which will not be advanced by polarisation or discrimination. – Yours, etc,
