Madam, - Tony Shaw (February 8th) complains about VAT on home care fees. I am in a similar position, caring for my elderly father at home, and I too require private home care for periods when I am at work.
I pay tax at 42 per cent and I resent having to pay the VAT at 21 per cent on private home care fees to the Government just to allow me to go to work and pay more tax. For me, VAT on private home care fees represents double taxation. - Yours, etc,
