Sir, – Denis Staunton suggests that David Cameron's wife is the daughter of a viscount ("How David Cameron gambled and lost", Analysis, June 24th).
Samantha Cameron’s father is Sir Reginald Sheffield, a baronet. Her mother is now married to a viscount.
Mr Cameron has many problems but we do not want to add to them by making him seem more of a “toff” than he is. – Yours, etc,
