Madam, – I refer to an article (“Top Americans snub World Cup”, August 19th), which stated that the 11 top-ranked US golfers have snubbed the chance to play in the World Cup and the €3.9 million purse that goes with it.
The article does these fine professionals a disservice in that it fails to mention that the tournament takes place in China over the US Thanksgiving weekend.
Given this fact, their choice not to go to China should not be described as a snub. – Yours, etc,
