Madam, - I find it impossible to put in words the hurt and offence I experienced while watching the Pat Kenny interview with Tommy Tiernan on last Friday's Late Late Show.
I was profoundly offended by the constant use of foul language and the disgraceful way he referred to the church and the clergy.
I was surprised and disappointed with Mr Kenny's handling of the interview.
How a journalist who is renowned for his professionalism and thoroughness could allow this individual to use his show to deeply offend so many people should surely concern the director of programmes in RTÉ.
On finishing the interview, Mr. Kenny remarked "Tommy, you're always a tonic". Not for me, he wasn't. So much so, come Friday I will be switching over to a "Kelly and tonic" for my evening's entertainment. - Yours, etc.,
