Sir, – Thank you to Derek Scally for putting the Belgian town of Dinant back on the map for its invention of gingerbread ("Santa Claus is real, and he's as German as Christmas itself", December 24th).
As well as producing Couqe de Dinant – the world’s hardest biscuit, which must be broken not bitten – Dinant was the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, inventor of the saxophone. – Yours, etc,
